Grace graduated from DARE this week. (She's in the front row on the right. Thanks to Jill Thomas for the photo.) She was pretty proud because her classmates voted her DARE essay the best in her class and she got to read it in front of the entire assembly. I was pretty impressed because she read it very clearly and audibly.
Afterward, she told me she wanted to be a reporter, you know, because she's a pretty good writer. Or work in an animal clinic or be a fashion designer. I didn't know whether to feel proud or scared that she wanted to be a reporter.
Seriously.
