Coloring Easter Eggs

I love to color Easter eggs and it was even more fun getting to see the kids having fun coloring eggs. Ever since I can remember we would each get a dozen eggs and we would decorate all but the few that dad would manage to eat. We didn't have the fancy kits that they have now where you can tye-dye your egg or make it shiny. But we still had lots of fun. It was great to see the girls get so excited about coloring eggs, and Walker seemed to like it too. He kept reaching for the colored eggs.

We had a little accident while coloring eggs. Erin was helping Elliott color and spilled a whole cup of green coloring all over him and all over the floor.

I think Elliott was less than excited about all the mess.
But even though we made a huge mess on mom's floor she just laughed about it. She said in all the years that we have colored Easter eggs (30+) that no one has ever spilled the dye on the carpet.
Elliott's legs and but got stained from the green but I think he was really just trying to get into the spirit.
Mom was trying to clean up the carpet. After we got it mopped up you couldn't really tell that it had happened. Thankfully she has carpet that hides messes well.
Walker is trying to reach for his eggs that I colored for him.
These are Grace's eggs.
And Liza was nice enough to pose with her eggs for a picture.

We had lots of fun. I am not really sure what we will do with all the eggs since we won't get to see the girls for Easter (they will be in Memphis, TN visiting their aunt and cousins) but we will figure something out.

Walker is four months old today, my how time has flown. We has his check up, more on that later in the week.

The Egg Drop

Yesterday at Herrnstein Field the Methodist churches in the area sponsored an egg drop. They dropped 6000 plastic eggs out of a helicopter onto the field. Mike was brave enough to go with both of the girls and our nephew Malachi. All of the kids were really excited and said it was awesome. I think they were just excited about getting some candy.

The Helicopter dropping eggs

The kids were waiting patiently. Mike made them wait toward the back of the pack in fear of what all the adults were going to do once they said they could go in and get the eggs.

Malachi cheesing for the camera.
Grace seemed to have fun too, she got a ton of candy that we all took advantage of.

While they were braving the crowds for some candy I went to the Outlet Mall with my sister Erin, her little one Elliott, Walker, and both mom and dad were able to come along. Well they drove so I guess Erin and I were lucky enough to tag along with them! But I think that everyone had a great day, more on our evening festivities tomorrow.

Baby Photos

I don't think that there is any way to deny that Walker looks a lot like Mike, but I am hoping that he looks at least a little bit like me. When Mike's parents visited us a few months ago his mother was nice enough to bring some photos of him as a kid so we could look at them and compare his baby pictures to what Walker looks like. So here is the proof that Walker looks a whole lot like Mike.

I am pretty sure that Walker looks a whole lot like Mike and maybe just a little bit like me. But either way I do think he is really cute.

Soccer season

Well Grace's soccer season is in full swing, with practices two times a week and games every Saturday. Her first game was a little chilly but Liza and Walker were both excited to go out and see their big sister play. I am pretty sure that Grace hopes it warms up pretty soon because she was freezing.

Grace is on the other side, she is the small one.

Liza was paying great attention...to the Ipad. And Walker is amazed by the inside of his stroller

Grace trying to stay warm. And Mike helping the team out by coaching a little.

Mike was trying to warm Grace up, I am pretty sure it didn't work.

The whole thing was just too much for him.

Grace has really improved a lot from this time last year, and is learning to be more aggressive towards the ball. We look forward to seeing her progress over the course of this season. Her team won their first game, 3-1 and we really like her coaches this year. We will keep you updated on how well the team is doing.
