Warmer Weather

Remember last week when it was warm? Or are beginning to think the warm weather was just a dream? Well I have pictures to prove it was warm.  Walker, Liza and I all met our friends Emily and Maci at the city park. This was Walker's first time at the park. I think he liked it even though he was less than impressed with the swings.

This is Walker and Maci checking out the swings at the park.

Later in the week the whole family went down to Poland park, which is only about a block away from the house.

We are planning a swing set of our own for the backyard, and Liza knows just what she wants back there.  Liza said,"You know I have been doing my research.  I went to a whole bunch of parks and know just what we need for the backyard." I have a feeling that we won't be making our play set quite as elaborate as she would like.

Grace was showing off her skills on the monkey bars.

Walker and Mike tried out the slide. He was almost as impressed with the slide as he was with the swings.
Liza wants monkey bars on our play-set so I made her prove it that she could go all the way across them.
They also really loved this bridge, bad news for them we will not be putting in one of these.
He loves being outside. Walker loves going for walks he usually falls asleep. So hopefully it will get warm again soon so we can all get some more fresh air.

Liza was less than impressed with this slide and requested ours be taller, "You know so that it will go really fast, and I can fly off then end and crash into things," Liza said.  Well I think our slide will be taller but I hope no one is crashing into things.

Grace thought Walker should try out the swings again.

The girls thought since we just had dinner that it was appropriate to bring a snack to the park. Grace said, "Well you never know when I might get hungry again." Well with that kind of an argument how could I protest. So the girls stopped in the middle of playing to eat an orange on the bridge.

Safety patrol

Grace recently was named to the safety patrol at school. It's a big responsibility since the district had to recently go without adult crossing guards because of cutbacks in the city. Volunteers now help the student crossing guards, but Grace is pretty proud of herself. I stuck around and watched her one day and she's pretty serious about it -- well, as serious as Grace can be.

The many travels of Walker Edward

Dad was off all last week, so there were so many things to do. Act-ually (that's for you, Malachi), we mostly stayed together and hung out at the house. Here's proof ...

At my big sister Liza's 9th birthday party ... Mom made a shirt (I LOVE MY SISTERS), but I drooled a little too much and the colors ran all over me.

When you roll with Walker Edward, you'd better look good ...

I got a haircut last week ... OK, Dad did, but mommy and I went along for the ride and to meet Tonny.

And I got an iPad2 on Friday. I think it's cute that my parents think it's theirs.

Walker takes a field trip

Kelsey and Liza thought Walker needed to visit Liza's 2nd grade classroom.

So, they asked Ms. Colburn, Liza's teacher, and it was OK.

So, Da Big Boy took a field trip ...

A busy day

Walker had a busy day today. We went for Walker's two month check up. We also had lunch with Erin, Malachi, and Elliott, picked up Grace and Liza from school, ran errands for Mike, had a family birthday celebration for Liza, and went to Grace's first band concert. So to say the least the little guy was tuckered out tonight and should sleep well.

He received the dreaded round of vaccinations at the doctor. We also got to see how he measures up to other kids his age.  He is now almost 14 pounds weighing in at 13lbs 15oz which is in the 90th percentile. He is 24 1/2"also in the 90th percentile. And his head circumference is 16" which is in the 50th percentile.

He is such a big boy, but we already knew that. The doctor told us to just keep doing what we are doing. He said he is ahead most kids his age because he is already rolling over and sleeping through the night. Yay for Us!

On the Dr.'s way out of the room he said " I bet he is going to be the next 6'11" center for Ohio State." I don't think he will make it to be quite that big but we will just have to wait and see. I would like him to just stay mommy's little baby, but Mike told me he is sure that won't happen.

This was this morning before we went to the doctor.

And this was when we got home. Poor little guy. But to his credit he didn't cry long at all. I have actually heard him cry worse when he is mad or hungry.

First shots (aka This hurts me more than it does you)

Walker had his first shots today. If you ever had your parents pull that "this hurts me more than it does you" deal on you when you were about to get a spanking, you know that was a load of crap.

But shots are a different story.

And AFTER PHOTO

Not to fear, baby and mother are doing fine. It's the guy's father we have to worry about.
